Vertigo and eutachian tube disorder

Posted by shell65 @shell65, Jun 19 4:33pm

I have eutachian tube disorder. I also have problems with vertigo. I had a tube placed in my ear yesterday for the ET disorder and now am having vertigo symptoms. Is this common after tube placement? Also the pain, pressure and tinnitus is worse. I hope this is temporary from the surgery.

@shell65 I am so sorry for you. I understand. I also have ETD. It is awful. Dizziness, head fullness. I am supposed to have "pinprick" myringotomy on Monday to relieve the pressure/possible fluid but have been warned it could make dizziness worse. Not sure what to do but this imbalance is seriously affecting my life. If my ENT doctor suggests an alternative procedure or remedy, I will share with you. Best wishes!

@ejbb I'd like to hear if your ENT says something useful.

@grampsof7 Well, I had a myringotomy and a shot of steroids yesterday. ENT says I have Menier's Disease which is causing the imbalance and terrifying dizziness. This should help although I did have a scary episode of dizziness this afternoon, unfortunately. I have another shot of steroids next Monday.
