Vacuum pump - Dr Walsh disagrees
There are two recommendations often made around here.
One is Dr Patrick Walsh's Guide to Surviving Prostate Cancer.
The other is the benefits of trying a vacuum pump to aid recovery.
But Dr Walsh say: "... Also, because this approach does not bring new blood flow into the penis (huh? Isn't that exactly what it's for?), it may not do much to facilitate the recovery process. Some men are highly satisfied with the result of vacuum devices; the majority are not."
That's not what everyone around here says.

Gray - I have heard that nerves can grow back and become less 'traumatized' . They have to be stimulated though . Keep working at it is my advise based on gearing guys in yoru situation. Most turn out just fine after time and experimentation with Vacuum and drugs , etc . Keep positive . ..... James on Vancouver Island .

3 ReactionsIt sounds like you need to see your PCP or a psychiatrist and get an anxiety reducing drug. I remember watching a TV show where the guy was taking Prozac and had no desire to have sex and it worked great for him because his attitude about everything was better. There are a few drugs that work for most people. The first one you try, may not do the trick, Just go back to the doctor and say I need something else.
That can reduce your rage and depression to the point that you can pretty much feel completely normal. Don’t let this build, Do something about it soon. You will feel a lot better.
Yes, a vacuum pump can keep your penis healthy, But it doesn’t seem like you’d ever use it or even want to use it. Why are you really thinking you need to do something about it, Unless you plan to change the situation you are in.
Jeff is spot on! The news I had the C word scared the &*%&^ out of me and my doctor told me basically, YOU NEED MEDS! 🙂 So, I'm on lexapro and I gotta say, it's worked wonders for me. I'm always happy and looking to get healthier every day. Give it a try! You can always go off them later but it sounds like it will really help you right now.

2 ReactionsI had a prostatectomy, then radiation 6 months later so the boy was dead. Tried bimix first, but had to use a lot; I got erections just looking at the trimix bottle. So I simply mixed them in the syringe.
Then arrived xtandi. No need even trying and the cost per dose had gone up by a factor of 10. Bandits. And it came with very little cold packaging, so by the time it got to me from Knoxville, it wasn’t even cool.
Here are some information about using Trimix that you are not aware of
https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/my-trimix-experience/
I am 10 months post RARP and I think use of the VED a couple times a week was helpful early on in keeping things stretched out. I only use it for penis health as I look down the road towards a possible implant if things do not recover. Several months back I tried Bimix and it did produce anything useable. Switched to trimix and that works pretty good so now I use trimix in an auto ejector as therapy twice a week along with occasional VED use and my daily 5mg cialis.
When I first had my RALP three years ago, I joked with my friends I should've had my hearing checked because I thought the urologist said there was a good chance I would be important after the surgery, but he really said impotent. Little did I know I predicted my future. My nerves weren't as spared as my surgeon hoped, and now the dick is dead with no chance of resurrection. Yes, Trimix works, and yes, my VED works so I can have an erection when I want one, but in those three years my wife's libido has shriveled worse than my penis. I refuse to give up on orgasms. If I have to masturbate to reach one, so be it. It isn't the same as it used to be, but it is still worthwhile. As Woody Allen described it, at least it's sex with someone you love.

1 ReactionAs Willy Nelson said, "I've outlived my pecker". I just don't care anymore and glad to be alive.
