Use of GLP-1 and also diagnosed with PMR and on Prednisone

Wonder if anyone has experience with use of GLP-1 for obesity and or diabetes after diagnosed with PMR and treatment with Prednisone?

I don't have personal experience of this, but did read a post on another forum where a person had combined those medications. It seemed to be going very well for them and they found that it was assisting with their PMR as well as they were finding tapering the dose much easier than before being on the GLP-1. Not a scientific sample of only 1 person, but there is some good evidence that the GLP medications do have anti-inflammatory properties.

I was diagnosed with PMR in March and started 25mg prednisone. I was diagnosed with SMM in May and had to taper off prednisone. I started kevzara 14 weeks ago, but I'm not getting anywhere near the relief I had on prednisone. I started foundayo a little over three months ago and have lost around 15 pounds so far. I can't say that it's helping anything but the osteoarthritis in my knees.

Started prednisone 15 mg in June. Also on Mounjaro 7.5 mg. No issues to date that I'm aware of. I am type 2 diabetic; blood glucose levels have not risen since starting prednisone (so that's good).

Thank you all for your comments. I am 70, overweight but not obese by BMI definition but need to lose 40 pounds to be at a healthy weight. My primary care physician and I had talked about use of GLP-1 prior to my onset of PMR 5 months ago. I plan to discuss this her again at an appointment tomorrow. Currently with my degree of fatigue from the PMR, I am barely able to do chair exercises much less any activity that would assist with weight loss. I also have osteoarthritis so appreciate the post mentioning that it improved with weight loss. I eat a very healthy diet.
It’s encouraging to hear from your comments that the GLP-1 helps with weight loss and may even help with PMR symptoms. Again thank you for your comments.
