I had urethroplasty and needed a suprapubic catheter for 13 months. Exchanged every 4 weeks. There are many different straps to hold everything jn place. Antibiotic cream on the tip.of your penis to keep it lube up. Take it very easy and you will done before you know it.

@budisnothome how did you manage bladder spasms they are giving me sleepless nights

My urologist gave me meds. I think it was oxybutynin. Works great. Heating pad on tummy helped some. Ice made spasms worse. Drink lots and pee lots if you can.

I have had an SP catheter for ten years and found:
Clean the stoma and the catheter tube with a mild solution of distilled white vinegar. I use regular distilled white vinegar (5%) diluted to 1%. This does two things: it prevents the biofilm from forming and it toughens the skin at the site.
If you can , do away with the drainage bag. I just plug the end tube with a catheter plug. I coil the tube and hold it with a Velcro tie. This relieves the strain and helps keep the bladder healthy.
Oxybutinin definitely helps as does the heating pad.
You are at the start of a year long journey things will get easier. Try out new things to see what works for you.
Good luck.
