Tymlos side effects?
Hi all, love this group so helpful. I have been on low dose Tymlos 2 months moving up slowly. What have others experienced with regards to back pain? What kind of back pain are you experiencing? Thanks!

Thank you for your response. I tend to react virtually to all meds and was hoping I'd be less challenged with Tymlos, but I'm not alone in this, and it's helpful to know that others are struggling too and sometimes getting some relief.
My Physician's assistant said it will take 2 months and the issues will "magically" vanish. They did. I am in this for the long haul because my C5 was paper thin and fell apart when they opened me up for spine surgery. I was 67 at the time. I had DEXA's for 30 years, every year and they couldn't anticipate what happened to me! So for a few years I'll deal with all the crummy side effects and keep my eye on the ball! Time is going really fast and I'll be finished this fall with the TYMLOS and 2 annual Reclasts and then I'm done. Its going very fast.
Well, back pain is one side effect I DIDN'T have. Started with the expected pounding heart and head rushes, which I handled with doing the shot and going to bed. Had a moderate headache 24/7 for a while. Then we had middle of the night vomiting, which lasted for only a few nights. Next up came the leg aches (6 or7 level on a pain scale) every afternoon and evening. But the worst of all was nearly total exhaustion, which set in at around a month on the drug, from afternoon on. Endo doc suggested I try partial dosing , but by then I'd had enough of Tymlos, so I quit. Felt like myself again two days later. On Forteo now for about 5 weeks, and doing fairly well , which surprises me since the two drugs are very similar. These are powerful drugs, and it's hard to predict how each human will react.

After 3 and 1/2 months on Temlos, the joint pain and stiffness was so severe, I could hardly move. I was 4 weeks from back surgery and my MDs put me on a large prednisone dose. My surgery was very successful and I have been tapering off the prednisone. I’m done with PT for my back, but now seeing a Rheumatologist for the continuing joint pain and swelling. I stopped the Temlos last September. It has taken me 6 months to get off prednisone. My goal is for healing from taking Temlos in 1 year - June 2026!
