Tymlos side effects
Has anyone else had leg/back aches with Tymlos? I've been on it since October and lately I've had terrible aches in my legs and lower back, especially at night. Is that one of the known side effects? Thanks!

Upon further research into Prolia it does affect both density and quality aspects of bone. So there is advantages to taking this. It does create more bone density .

1 Reaction@kristie2 My oncologist said the same. It likely depends on all your numbers to see if it’s the right and most effective bone-building drug to take, but it does help grow new bone in some people, with the additional therapies, of course (weight-bearing exercise, supplements, etc.)
My injections of Prolia did not work for me and it doesn’t always work. I took it after Evenity. Now I’m on Reclast.

1 ReactionIf I can’t get the Tymlos I started on last week does anyone know about Prolia?
My DEXA is -4.8 that’s the option my doctor Rheumatologist gave me. I guess it might be covered under part b Medicare because you go to the hospital to get the injection.
@strongerbones I am had my second night of Tymlos with palpitations, couldn’t sleep, broke out in night sweats, woke up either awful neck/headache 4 hours later and feel dizzy still 10 hrs after shot.

1 Reaction@kristie2: Reclast after Evenity I believe was the road you chose. Kristie, will you share what your side effects occurred and results of bone density tests. Do you feel this was the best course to take after Evenity? Thank you for sharing.

1 ReactionHope they get better. I knew after a month that I couldn't tolerate it but the glutton for punishment I am I continued - big mistake for me. I'm not even going back to my doctor again. Sometimes I wonder if the cure isn't worse than the disease. Let me know how you do in the coming weeks. Good luck

4 Reactionscherraven, maybe you should take a day off and start a lower dose. Contact the providing physician tomorrow.
The palpitations and the headache can be alleviated by starting hydrated, taking tea or coffee for the caffeine and having something a little salty.
Parathyroid hormone pulls calcium from the body to trick your body into thinking you have bone loss and need cells that replace bone. But the calcium (also) dilates the blood vessels, making the heart beat much harder to make the blood circulate sufficiently in the expanded blood vessel, causing palpitations and dizziness. The calcium also dilates the blood vessels in your brain which, according to the endocrinologist I see, is the single cause of headache following the injection.
None of this is advisable at night when you may experience nocturia with dizziness and low lights incurring a risk of falling.
These effects may go away, as reported here, after days or weeks.
I hope the medication works for you, if it doesn't you might try Forteo which is a lower dose and said to be a little less effective than Tymlos.

5 Reactions@dbamos1945 after Evenity my spine t score went from -4.6 to -3.3. Then my endocrinologist wanted me to go on Prolia I did for 2 injections and my DEXA went to -3.2 so we felt it wasn’t a good choice and went on to reclast. I have another DEXA in August and will see from that point on.
When I was on Evenity I had some minor burning across my shoulders but it went away. I had no issues with Prolia or Reclast.

4 Reactions@gently I have taken a day off in between my 2 injections and feel back to normal on those days.
I asked my Endo if I can take a lower dose and the answer was No! I just feel yucky all day after the injections as dizzy with headache and neckacje all day even when I am drinking tons of water for hydration
