Trelogy inhaler side effects
My pulmonologist put me on Trelegy Inhaler for COPD. I’ve been on it for about a month now. Since I started using it I have had a “hoarse voice” and just today I started with “teeth sensitivity”
Anyone heard of these side effects?

I have hoarse voice too sometimes no voice I’m on Trelegy have been using this for a few months now and never associated the hoarseness with the inhaler but now thinking about it it probably did coincide I really don’t know whether to carry on with this or change but at this present time I think I’ll continue but continue to watch for updates. Paula do you use the Trelegy with a spacer and rinse your mouth and gargle afterwards? I have voice issues too, on Symbicort. But it works sop well I am not willing to give it up. I'm seeing the speech therapist in July to see if she has any more suggestions for maintaining my voice.
I hope something works for you I don’t use a spacer as the Dr said you need to try and inhale right down into your lungs but I really don’t know how he expects anyone to do that so I do a quick suck in but not a lot goes straight down as I call taste the horrible taste in my mouth and then I rinse my mouth out first with water and then mouthwash. Can’t think of any other way
I was at NJH last month, and 2 doctors there told me it's best not to use trelegy with my MABs. I was given both the inhaled nitrous oxide test and the methacholine challenge and scored negative on both. Steroids in my case were not necessary. So, off the trelegy. Currently on albuterol.
Sue, possibly Symbicort can cause thrush, which can cause loss of voice. I was looking up anoro trelegy side effects and thrush was listed.
Yes, because I use Symbicort, my mouth, throat and vocal chords are checked for thrush at every pulmo appt, as well as by my primary and my dentist. The only time I had it from Symbicort was when I left my spacer home while on a trip. I hope to not do that again!
I want your dentist! I never heard of a dentist checking for thrush. Sounds like it's not thrush. It's hard losing voice. I lost my voice while I was on Arikayce, but fortunately stopped taking after 3 weeks. The speech therapist at NJH told me the thrush grows on the larynx with Arikayce. Not sure how they would test for that. Fortunately, my voice came back but it took about over 3 weeks.
You aren't the only person to get meds in mouth and back of throat-it's why spacers and chambers have been developed and recommended for years now-it's the easiest way to get inhaled meds "right down into lungs." Exceptions are powdered or breath-actuated.
