What does "tree-in-bud" pattern mean?

What exactly does the following mean?
There are a few clusters of peripheral micronodules in the left lower lobe
laterally with a "tree-in-bud" pattern, likely sequelae from previous atypical
infection such as Mycobacterium avium complex

CT scan two years ago showed tree in bud pattern in both lungs. Subsequent CTs show no change and I have no symptoms. Are there other tests I should have or just monitot with scans

@juabita What kind of doctor are you seeing? It would be a good idea to find out if you have Bronchiectasis or an active infection in your lungs.
A pulmonologist familiar with Bronchiectasis management would order appropriate tests - possibly a sputum culture and pulmonary function tests.
