Tree in bud after Lobectomy Surgery

Posted by crisfromchile @crisfromchile, Aug 28 3:01pm

Hi there, after a rather succesful pulomonary lower lebectomy, a "tree in bud" pattern appeared on the remaining upper lobe. Been struggling with that ever since. I ask for anybody who could give me any tips and ideally suggest a doctor fully specialized on this matters. Thanks a lot!!!

Probably a lung infection. Check whether it is an NTM infection or TB infection.

Tree in bud is a finding on a CT scan. It usually means that you have bronchiectasis. Bronch-i-ec-ta-sis. Bronchiectasis is a condition where your airways widen or develop pouches. It causes coughing with a lot of mucus and frequent infections. You should discuss this with your pulmonologist. This diagnosis requires diligent airway clearance to move mucus out of those pouches. There is a thread on these discussion boards. Just type bronchiectasis into the search box.
