Treatments for long term incontinence after RP

Posted by jsh327 @jsh327, Jun 10 9:54am

I am posting this on behalf of @phl6953, Replies should be sent to @phl6953. A simplified Chinese translation (Google Translate) is pasted below the English language version

@phl6953 I underwent radical surgery for prostate cancer on January 7, 2023. Unfortunately, my prostate cancer reached the nerves outside of the prostate, so they were not saved during surgery. I have been suffering from urinary incontinence ever since. What is your experience with treatments that successfully stopped or greatly reduced incontinence?

As background, I will be 71 next month. My health has always been good, I swim in public water almost every day, 365 days a year. I have been doing Kegel exercises of three sets a day - morning, afternoon, and evening - of 20 minutes each with 10 second muscle hold and then 10 second muscle relax. In August 2023, I started receiving a treatment of magnetic vibration to the perineum. By February 2024, I woke up with very little leakage and only woke up 1-2 times per night. Unfortunately, in March after having alcohol, I started to have more leakage.

Please help with advice based upon your experience.

Today I have prostate cancer and surgery after a critical point node. I had surgery on January 7 last year, PSA index 0.057 in May, endocrine therapy was decided in June, and the first injection was given on the 14th. The second injection was given on Sept 14 and the third on Dec 14. The PSA index showed a downward trend, and by March 14 this year, the PSA index was 0.01 again. June 14 was the half-year day of my last injection, and the PSA index examined today was 0.000
(ng/ml), reference value (o-4); Testosterone To.2 (ng/ml). Reference value (1.42-9 for men). The wife is very happy to know that now I am left with incontinence!
God, help me, when can I become a 100% mainlander!

I am 75 with PCa. Successful prostatectomy 21 years ago, but 2 bladder resections last 8 years resulted in incontinence. Tried an external catheter with bag for a year. Highly unsuccessful. Then tried a Cunningham clamp that has worked great. Got all my mobility back including swimming and hot tub. Suggest you might try this solution.

Dear Mr. Claude, how do you do!
I am very glad to see your message. I feel that it is not easy for you to endure the pain of such a long illness, but you live a strong life, which is worth learning: What is Cunningham?
I am also using a kind of clamp now, the origin is also in the United States:
Z H B
"The VibReflex Incontinence Clamp is an external medical device used to control urine leakage by compressing the urethra and preventing the flow of urine"
HOW TO USE
Step 1
Open the incontinence clamp by releasing the catch and lifting up the top part
Step 2
Place your penis between the silicone rubber pads with the incontinence clamp about halfway down the
Step 3
Latch the incontinence clamp to compress the urethra at the levei that's shaft of your penis comfortable to you
because I am not in the United States, I am not very clear about what you said, can you help me know, understand and get familiar with it?
Thank you for your kindness and help! help
