Treatment Resistant Depression: What can I do?

Posted by myacct123 @myacct123, Jan 11 5:25pm

What are other things that I can do?

Tms lasts only a short time. Ect is connected to memory loss.

Any new medications?

Can’t sleep!

No. I just told the dr. That I could not afford $100.00
For 30 pills /month.

So, he prescribed and increased the dose of Zoloft that I was on aldeay.

The problem is I got tremors in both.hands from solid now.

Please tell me what I can do to prevent tremors?

Thank you dear.

ABILIFY perhaps is good for those who can afford this high copay of $100.00 per month, but I cannot.

I had progressive reaction to it.

@vijay26 - here are a couple of Mayo Clinic Connect discussions in the Depression & Anxiety group in which you may want to read some of the posts and/or participate on sertraline (Zoloft):

- Been off Zoloft for several years. Can it cause tremors now? https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/been-off-zoloft-for-several-years-can-it-cause-tremors-now-have-a/

- Anxiety increase Zoloft side effects? https://connect.mayoclinic.org/discussion/anxiety-increase-zoloft-side-effects/ (note that the original poster in this discussion talks about the side effect of "shakiness")

I was on Ability for a while. I worked. But, I couldn't afford $100.00 Copay for a supply of 30 pills. I cut it off.

Now, I am on Solid and.its.not working. The Dr says I have to work.

Wait and see kind of response.

Thank you for asking this.important question.

I have tried multiple medications and ECT over the years. The only thing that has really worked is the nasal spray Spravato. It is a form of ketamine. I have been on it since 2022 and it has changed my life. From the first dose I felt a huge difference. It is FDA approved and many insurance companies cover it.

Hi you can get a Genomind test.
They test your saliva for the D. N a to tell when and what medications are good for you, which are not good for you.And which just don't work.
They go through all the medications and give you a chart. So you know what medication is gonna work best for you.
They are a little pricey, but if you ask them, they will reduce your bill to $300.
Let me tell you, it's well worth it.

@vijay26 I had worsening tremors w/MS until I could rarely walk. Went to neurologist who immediately prescribed Propanol. It’s an off-prescription use. Within three days my tremors (feet, legs, hands, fingers) had lessened almost to disappearance. I take 40mg twice a day. It’s been 4 years, so far so good. And relatively cheap. Best wishes.

Have you tried OTC medication called, "Melatonin?"

My Dr here at the rehab put me on it, it worked for a day only. Next day, I am back to my insomnia.

Do not know what to do.
Walk a mile, if you can. Get tired and fall asleep.

@ashleygm814 Same here. I tried many different medications, and after the GeneSight test to show which meds are right for me, I'm still struggling. Last month I started Spravato, and it's getting better. Sometimes making me nauseous.
