Travel Nebulizer

Unfortunately the Philips Innispire Go was discontinued as it didn't cope with the saline. It was a very popular portable device.

I have seen others recommend an alternative and hopefully someone will be able to assist.

@debminuet - That seems to be the big question recently. When my Innospire Go dies, I tried 3 different less expensive mesh nebulizers - all lasted less than 3 months using saline/levalbuterol before they clogged, leaked or died. It turns out that if you looks closely on line, almost all are similar or identical, and cheaply made.
I threw them away and vowed to stop wasting time and money until a reputable company came out with one.

Every month or so I go on a search to see what is available, with the amount of travel I do, I am willing to pay for a quality unit. BUT...everyone I think "might be the one" gets rejected when I use the User Manual - described as "self-cleaning" with using distilled water, with no provision for sterilizing. Many manuals say "do not boil, steam or microwave components" (for example, the TruNeb is just what I would like)

So as of today, I stick with my small compressor model DeVilbiss Traveler - it's a workhorse.

My Innospire GO works just fine with saline! The key is to alcohol swab the gold contacts on it. Salt builds up and prevents a connection. That said, it is not my mainstay nebulizer but for travel or quick treatments.

Since this is a life long disease with commitment to nebulizing twice a day everyday 7x24 I sprung for the eRapid or eFlow by Pari. It's on sale now and on a special holiday was marked down another 20%. Even so, it was $600+ but it works well and fast. If I am not mistaken it's the same nebulizer people get when they start the arikyce for MAC. I am glad I purchased it.

This is off topic, but I can't find an appropriate place to ask it....
I'm wondering is anyone has found a way to get rid of the bad odor left from nebulizing Acetylcysteine?? I tried an air purifier that listed odors as one of it's purifying capabilities, but found that it did not work.

Take the NAC orally?

I haven't heard anything about this being an option, but will definitely ask my pulmonologist about it!

If I could neb outside, it would be a solution, but while I am nebulizing, I need to be wearing the Vest with the Hill-Rom "shake me up" machine, which I can't take outside.
Thanks for taking the time to reply. I am thankful for the Vest and for Acetylcysteine, because they have given me a lot of relief, so I may just need to make it work. 🙂
