If we didn't find something to laugh about all we would do is cry.

I’ve not had memory issues (or perhaps I forgot!) but after episodes of hepatic encephalopathy plus post transplant meds, I fear them more. Telling myself I may have some control over this I’ve begun to do word puzzles everyday from the NYT- Wordle, Spelling Bee, Mini Crossword. I read a poem aloud to myself everyday. Etc. just keeping my brain exercised. I have no idea if it will help.

Hi footballmum!
Your comment is so true! It reminds me of the last days of my good friend, Pat's fight with Leukemia. While visiting her in her hospital room, Pat asked me, "What is Heaven like?" I was not sure what to say, so I just told her the truth. I said, "Pat, I don't know what it is like. But I do know that you don't have to pay any rent." I wasn't trying to be funny but that struck Pat funny and we both started to laugh! We couldn't stop laughing! It was so good! The nurses heard us came in to see what was going on because they said on that ward, (leukemia) they never heard laughter. They started laughing with us. It was a nice memory for me. That was the last time I saw my good friend, Pat.
