Hello, I'm new to this group and I'm looking for some help. I cannot stand on the toes on my left foot. When I walk I have a very bad limp. Maybe it's because I cannot push off with the toes, front of foot,. I cannot lift that heel up either. I can if I'm using both feet, just not alone. Also the calf on that leg has atrophy .Sometimes I feel like the muscle is kicking in and getting better, but then it seems to fade.
I also need a total THR on the left hip. I mostly want to help the limp get better. Do any of you have this? Do you think hip replacement could help the limp ??
Hello @peggyn. Have you discussed all of these symptoms with your medical provider? Is there any concern that your spinal issues are causing issues with your nerves that are resulting in your intermittent leg weakness?
Here are a few discussions where members are discussing spinal issues and may have experienced something similar to yourself:

@peggyn, is your limp a result from a painful hip or perhaps your back issues causing muscle weakness?
I sometimes feel a sharp pain like needles in my spinal cord to the waist area. It doesn’t happen often but sometimes it happens when I sit or stand. Sometimes I feel a cold dull pains around my groin and around my jaw area to the ears and I have abdominal pains. I would like to have a knowledge about what’s wrong with me.
@peggyn
I have a lot of back problems also, spondyscthelsis sp and spinal stenosis. I really don't want surgery for this, but would like the hip surgery.
Has anyone had all of this going on??
