TMS or ECT treatments: Did they work for you?
TMS and ECT treatments are very reputable and often used these days by top notch Psychiatrists. I’m wondering if anyone has had either one recently, and did you have it for depression, or another condition? How did they work for you?

I have done two rounds of TMS. The first I had some short term success in the reduction of my depression. The second time unfortunately I had no success at all. I hope if you decide to do TMS that you enjoy a good long lasting result.
@mwendt54 Did 35 treatment. No success.

1 ReactionDid you only go one time? Not 5 days a week for five weeks?
@bajjerfan Sadly , it did nothing for my daughter , and we've tried everything to lessen her chronic pain and anxiety .
Did two rounds of TMS, about a year apart. First one had great results, but doc felt I needed a “tune up “ so did a second round. Response was good for the second as well. Haven’t needed it repeated since then - about 5 years. Only thing I complained about was that insurance insisted I had to do a complete session the second time - instead of the 10 treatments that the doctor wanted - or they wouldn’t pay for it.

Hello. I was very successfully treated with TMS, though I was very skeptical that it would work. I noticed an improvement after about three weeks; and I had sessions three times per week. How often are your treatment sessions and are you on medication, too? My psychiatrist doubled my medication (Pristiq 100mg) because my suicidal ideation was very near the tipping point; then she mentioned TMS to me, and I decided to give it a go. TMS is not a "one and done" treatment, and I am in the process of setting up maintenance sessions, even though the evil insurance industry will only pay for the initial treatment.
Hang in there, and be very vocal to your psychiatrist that you aren't seeing the improvement that you hoped for. Advocate strongly for yourself. I wish you the best. Warm regards, Sarah

1 ReactionMy psychiatrist suggested I try TMS since my meds are not working. I’m anxious about the treatment. I am in Florida for the winter and my psychiatrist is in New York. How do I find a doctor that does TMS where I am in Florida?
@lakesofdelray Hi. Go to GreenbrookTMS.com, and you will have the opportunity to seek a location that works for you. All the best, Saarah
