TMS or ECT treatments: Did they work for you?

Posted by phxlife @phxlife, May 3, 2023

TMS and ECT treatments are very reputable and often used these days by top notch Psychiatrists. I’m wondering if anyone has had either one recently, and did you have it for depression, or another condition? How did they work for you?

Has anyone done TMS therapy and had success?

@mlpbob

I have done two rounds of TMS. The first I had some short term success in the reduction of my depression. The second time unfortunately I had no success at all. I hope if you decide to do TMS that you enjoy a good long lasting result.

Hello,I am in the middle of my fourth week of six of TMS treatments. I am still having terrible side effects, am exhausted and am feeling very nauseous when I leave daily treatments. I am just as low as when I began treatment and am beginning to wonder if TMS is making me worse. Does anyone have insight into this or a similar experience?

Did you only go one time? Not 5 days a week for five weeks?

Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation. It's supposed to "reset" your brain.

@bajjerfan Sadly , it did nothing for my daughter , and we've tried everything to lessen her chronic pain and anxiety .

Did two rounds of TMS, about a year apart. First one had great results, but doc felt I needed a “tune up “ so did a second round. Response was good for the second as well. Haven’t needed it repeated since then - about 5 years. Only thing I complained about was that insurance insisted I had to do a complete session the second time - instead of the 10 treatments that the doctor wanted - or they wouldn’t pay for it.
