TKR after having Covid.
I'm on day 8 of having Covid and I'm scheduled for knee replacement surgery on December 21st. What are your thoughts on going through with the surgery? I haven't felt up to doing the exercises lately which I know are beneficial for recovery.

Purely my opinion here - we never know how long a Covid infection will affect a specific individual. Day 8 is very early on, and you have 3 weeks yet to heal & exercise. I bet this is nerve wracking for you, since you already made the decision to have surgery and get rid of the pain!
If I were in your situation, I would wait to make a decision, and see how I feel in the next 2 weeks. Also consult both the surgeon and the facility about their requirements. My daughter's hospital requires 21 days from end of symptoms to day of surgery, plus a preop evaluation by the primary 7 days before to decide if you are healthy enough.
Let me know what your docs say - I hope you will be ready to do it!

1 ReactionThank you. I'm planning on contacting the surgeons office tomorrow and also try for the third time to get the antibody treatment. Thanks again.
