TKR February 16
For the past few days I’ve started getting severe stabbing pains in the picture circled area. This happens when I’m just sitting or walking. Fortunately only about ten daily. Any thoughts appreciated.

Good afternoon @zoobird1. Thanks for the photo. And I understand the stabbing pain. It kind of shocks you doesn't it. (I have had two TKRs 10 years apart.)

Have you had a chance to share this unwanted symptom with your surgeon? It seems somewhat likely that all the elements in and around that new knee are struggling to heal and running into some difficulties. As you know, there are ligaments, skin, muscles, and other connective tissue all over the surgery area. The mechanical elements are also resident and doing what I call settling in. And on top of all this, you are expected to make progress on your PT exercises. As a matter of fact, last week I had to reschedule a PT appointment because I overdid a couple of my stability and balance routines. So this can happen to all of us especially when we want to be a good participant in our recovery.

Today, I want to share a special video with you. It will give you a better understanding of what goes on under your skin and all of the human elements that have been disturbed by the TKR. Knowledge frequently leads to understanding.

Please let me know what you think.
May you safe, free and protected from inner and outer harm.
