Controlling Tinnitus: What works for you?

Posted by scottk @scottk, Jul 1, 2019

Hello: Has anyone on this site had any luck with controlling tinnitus? I see certain things advertised but always sceptical. Any thoughts/ideas?

I'm 57 yo male. I've had it about 3 years and started the Lipo flavonoids right away. They work pretty well for me. I still have constant ringing of some sort but when I stop taking them it increases about 50 percent or more until I get enough back in my system. I typically take 4-6 per day. I also notice a big increase when I eat a real salty meal and especially when I take a lot of NSAIDS. Stress/anxiety definitely magnify it for me. I have never taken ativan but I have taken several other prescriptions for other issues that have made the tinnitus worse. Gabapentin and Crestor being 2 of them. Just because it isn't listed as a side effect doesn't mean anything as far as I can tell. Praying your problem will clear up without the ativan in your system.

My tinnitus is similar to yours as it often changes pitch and tone. I'm 57 yo male. I've had it about 3 years and started the Lipo flavonoids right away. They work pretty well for me. Hearing Aids 3 months ago have helped override my Tinnitus almost 90% . I have significiant hearing loss with Tinnitus. Caffeine & Salty foods tend to make my Tinnitus worse.

Yes, they are difficult to get use too, BUT, worth it!
