Hi @rick63, at Mayo Clinic's campus in Minnesota, experts in psychiatry and psychology services use a team approach to evaluate and diagnose anxiety and depression disorders. These compassionate psychiatrists, psychologists and other mental health professionals listen patiently to thoroughly understand your concerns and health issues to create a treatment plan suited to your needs.

I noticed that you posted elsewhere questions about Ativan (lorazepam) and experiencing tinnitus or ear buzzing. You might also be interested in this blog article:

Has any body got tinnitus from anxiety or depression

Anxiety can cause high blood pressure that then can cause short- lived tinnitus. On the other hand, medical conditions, notably, hyperthyroidism, Hashimoto Thyroiditis, and hyperparathyroidism, can cause feelings of anxiety AND tinnitus. I had a friend who started experiencing anxiety. Her PCP gave her Elavil. It didn't work because she had hyperthyroidism. With the proper treatment she is fine. People need to make sure that their, " anxiety " and " depressive symptoms" such as fatigue, aren't being caused by real medical problems.

Hello,
I have some issues with anxiety and depression. I also have Tinningitus but haven't noticed a link between the two, with one exception. After being too close to fireworks with some ear protection ,last July. My Tinnigitus flared up, worst ever. It did cause me some anxiety, ongoing for a month before it calmed down. I was concerned it would be like that for the rest of my life. It was hard to sleep also

For me, stress levels definitely will help trigger tinnitus. I can't say anxiety, per se, but generally stress.....sure.

And, for me, quite a lot of bed rest usually ends the tinnitus.

Very sorry about the difficulties.

take care now.

Yes, I have been experiencing it for the last several weeks. Is there any treatment for it?

Hi, I started developing Tinnitus when I took Elavil a few months ago. I ended up discontinuing the Elavil because it didn’t help my depression or anxiety and b/c of the tinnitus side effect. Now, I’m on Latuda (off-label use for my depression and anxiety) and the tinnitus has started again. It gets worse when I become stressed and anxious. Have you heard of any treatment for it?
