TIA symptoms but ALL tests come back negative for anything

I am looking for someone that has had a similar experience. TIA symptoms,was brought to the emergency room and admitted and treated as possible stroke patient. All tests come back negative for stroke related attack. Brain and heart and blood showed nothing indications of anything at all. Ruled out diabetic problems, medication problems, drinking or drug problems, physical or physical activity problems.

I think that a TIA would be diagnosed by the results of Ct scan and definitely by an MRI OF THE BRAIN.

not really true. i've had 3. none of these tests proved one way or the other. but we know i had them. right drooping. and a little speech slurring.

That’s what all the doctors that took care of me at the hospital concluded and put on my discharge papers. My symptoms resembled that of being intoxicated or high. Non responsive to conversation, unaware of my conditions but not my surroundings. No pain or discomfort. Brain fog and memory loss. I was with people during all the TIAs and that’s what they said.

@calanbrown thanks. Last week I had a very strange “something” happen. Went to ER had all kinds of tests, kept me over night and no answers… could be TIA or Panic Attack, or “life”…

Hi,
Yes, there was an instant blood thinner given, don't remember the name, followed by aspirin. I reacted badly to aspirin so have gone without blood thinners and so far touch wood been ok for the last 18 months or so.

@cheyne, it sounds like you have an allergy to Aspirin. no matter the dosage. a lot of people are. my younger brother is. good luck then.

Hi,
Yes, there was an instant blood thinner given, don't remember the name, followed by aspirin. I reacted badly to aspirin so have gone without blood thinners and so far touch wood been ok for the last 18 months or so.

That’s the ONLY thing they gave me. One 81 mg baby aspirin a day even though a have a strong healthy heart.

@cheyne and @calanbrown, i too have had 3 TIA(mini strokes). i've had CT scans, MRIs, even Ultrasounds looking for ruptured blood vessels. you name it, nothing found. to this day, 5 years later nothing has happened again. as far as we now. they don't leave any known signs. no clues. so far it's a mystery. ALL I CAN SAY IS GOOD LUCK. but don't take anything for granted. something don't seem right, get it checked out immediately. GET TO THE ER FAST. good luck, Daniel.

Yes! Over and over. It’s been going on for over 4 years now.
He falls with no use of legs and has uncontrollable shakes and talks gibberish. By the time we get to the ER all symptoms are gone. At first they just sent him home. He’s been to many doctors and have had MANY tests.
About a year ago at ER they looked at his liver enzymes AGAIN. This time they were high enough for us to see a liver Dr. It’s been a Long journey but he now has been diagnosed with an auto immune disease called PSC.
He has liver cirrhosis because of this and now has aged out for a transplant! I had taken videos of when he was having his “episodes” but liver specialist says it’s not what caused this. He is getting weaker, loosing weight and I’m scared. There are no cures for this PSC but some drugs ( for PBC) that can help some symptoms.
He takes so many pills (13morning & 9 evening) and is having “brain fog” I have to do a lot of things for him. He also sleeps ALOT! This is not an answer for you but thought I’d give you a rundown of his journey!
P.S. he’ll be seeing another neurologist this week. He has essential tremors that are now debilitating. Hopefully, they can at least help with this.
