Throat pain that won’t go away

Posted by augucad0 @augucad0, Apr 23 9:37am

My mother has had throat pain that she describes as “swallowing razor blades and glass” for 2 weeks and nothing is helping, I’m wondering if there’s anything I can do to help her or if I should make her go in to see a doctor?

Zenren is correct! Take her to the doctor as soon as you can or the emergency room. The fact that this is going on for 2 weeks is not good and needs to be treated.
I wish your mother the best.

@augucad0, Please get her to a primary care, urgent care or ENT doctor ASAP. This could possibly be strep or coming from some other infection. Your throat is not sore with strep....your throat hurts. Prolonging this may cause other issues.

Blessings & Prayers....

My husband had the same issue for 3 months. Throat lozenges, chloraseptic, nothing helped. Ended up being a tumor in the small palate, he had surgery last week. Do not waste any time and go see an ent doc right away.

Update- I got her in finally, turns out she just really didn’t want to get checked out. But we found out it’s just a really bad sinus infection and the medication she was taking wasn’t working because it wasn’t made to help with that. Thank you for helping me get her in!
