Third day post chemo and terrible taste in my mouth. Any suggestions?

Have tried ice water, popsicle, candied ginger, ginger tea - not much relief. Also feeling very lethargic. Thanks for any ideas. I’m new at this.

Just take one nap after another, that’s what I do on the third and fourth day. I have prochloperazine and ondansetron prescribed for nausea. Baked potatoes are good and cream of wheat cereal for breakfast. I try to tell myself on those rough days, this will get better in time. Feel better franciekid.

Thank you SO much. I was feeling guilty napping yesterday. I have the same anti nausea meds. Alternating today, but zofran not doing much. Trying ice, lemon ice and hard candy. Ick. I had oatmeal yesterday - and I did plan on baked potato, so thanks for that reassurance. Does it continue to get worse?

When my mom was going through chemo, she had the bad taste in her mouth. Baking soda diluted in water as a “rinse” is recommended.
I hope you feel better.

I have my fourth standard treatment this week but was in a clinical trial this past winter. I really can’t say it felt worse each time. But I seem to have one miserable day, about day three or four. The metallic taste goes away each time also. I was diagnosed with non small cell lung cancer early last September. If you have any questions about my experiences feel free to ask.

Thank you. I didn’t expect to feel so sick. The first two days were easy. This is my fifth and I’m so nauseous all the time. How many treatments do you need all together?

You might try plastic utensils. You can also go on-line and look up "eating utensils for chemotherapy patients". Lots of info

Oh @franciekid, I'm glad some others have piped in with suggestions. I wish this was easier for you.
I'm not sure if you've seen this, but maybe it will help: https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/cancer/in-depth/cancer/art-20047536
Are you starting to see any improvement? Less nauseous?

I went back to the hospital today for IV fluids and more anti nausea meds. They’re changing my meds. Thanks for the kind thoughts and encouragement. Helps a lot.
