Anyone had thickening outside the bladder dome?

Posted by fmfran @fmfran, Feb 16 8:28am

Has anyone experienced the thickening of the bladder on the outside of the upper portion of the bladder dome? What was the diagnosis? I have no cancer presently inside my bladder after years of treatment. I will get scanned to determine the cause of the irregularities on the outside of the bladder. I was just wondering if anyone has experienced this.
Thank you

Do you have CTDNA? Did they do a PET or biopsy (if possible)? Do you have inflammation?

I have not been tested on the outside. I believe my doctor is ordering a scan since he can’t access the outside of my bladder without cutting me somewhere else. I don’t know what CTDNA is. My inside is clear right now. I think that the high number of surgeries I’ve had caused inflammation. Thanks so much for answering me with some possibilities.

Unfortunately, inflammation and malignancy can appear identical on PET. That is what Mayo informed me of.

Thanks for that. I’ll discuss it with my doctor at my surgical follow up. I imagine there is the possibility of a surgical procedure if the scan is not definitive. I appreciate your thoughts. Keep fighting and never lose hope.

Needle core biopsy may be an option. Fast conclusive method. If malignant time is or the essence. But up to a MD to determine.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. I had not heard of this before. Right now the inside of my bladder is doing well (finally). I will mention this at my upcoming appointment.
