Mayo Clinic Breather Study for people who test positive for COVID

Posted by Laura Dropps @ldropps, Sep 27, 2022

I just wanted to pass this along. The Mayo Clinic is conducting a study using The Breather which is a breath training device. This study is specifically for folks that have tested positive for Covid. Here's a link for more info:

I just got The Breather because I feel short of breath a lot and trying to do the breathing exercises on my own wasn't working. I'll keep you updated when and if I see improvement.

This long covid recovery clinical trial is studying the effectiveness of The Breather/Breather Fit to reduce long-term symptoms of COVID-19.

To be eligible for the study:
You have tested positive for the virus causing COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2) 3 or more weeks ago and are over 18 years of age.

Why is this research being done?
Investigate the benefits of respiratory muscle training (RMT) using The Breather/Breather Fit and nasal breathing to accelerate recovery from COVID-19: improving COVID-related symptoms, respiratory function, fitness, ability to return to work, cognitive function, and quality of life.

How long will the research last?
We expect that you will be in this research study for 4 weeks.

Hello recovery patients,

I’m relieved to find a forum like this. I was recently diagnosed w Covid for the first time and was wanting to talk about it because my encounter with my PCP was unnerving. My PCP refused to see me and blamed me for being irresponsible for coming to see her. 🤯 flabbergasted. No remorse no apology, nothing. Thoughts?
