Thank you Reminder to PMR group
Just a reminder to everyone in the PMR group (as well as others). My "79 yr young" husband and I want to thank folks for their insight, care and knowledge in the group discussions. We thank Mayo Clinic Connect for this website and emails and we feel that we are not alone in this journey. This is my husband's second PMR flare and we are seeing a new doctor who is compassionate. He's on a slower taper from 10 now to 7 . With this website and the Lord, we will see this through. God bless you all.

I recently developed PMR and am taking 15 mg of Prednisone daily. I also have had Colitis for the past 4 years, & luckily I have not had any flares recently. I thought the Prednisone is helping my colitis.
For the colitis, I take Budesonide EC3 mg, every other day & Dicyclomine10 mg every day. I assumed these were helping control the inflammation.
Usually when they give an injection of a steroid, you start your oral dose of steroids the next day. I’ve had problems with insomnia from the shots too—it is normal to experience this. Every person is different in the amount of steroids they are given. 50 mg. Is on the high side but is certainly not unusual to start at—your inflammatory markers were probably very elevated, causing you great pain. Wishing you great pain relief on your PMR journey!
I could not take Predisone, I am on infusion of Actemra. It is helping.Trins
