THA Accolade 2 Stryker Orthopaedics vs Chromium and Cobalt toxicity

Posted by mpicard57 @mpicard57, Feb 17 2:20pm

In 2018 my wife had 2 orthopaedic surgery. She had THA with Accolade 2 from Stryker Orthopaedics. Until mid 2022, she stated to experience inflammation surrounding hips. After a full investigation including blood testing and synovial fluid researching chromium and cobalt at Mayo Clinic Laboratories, the orthopedist diagnosed a metallosis. At this time, she had 2 revision surgeries to replace the femoral head by ceramic one. After many many research, it seems that my wife is the only patient who received Accolade 2 to experience adverse affect with their prosthesis…As you will understand, I’m skeptical and I don’t trust their response or explanation ??? At this point, please could you help me to find if there is existing data on Accolade 2 and metallosis ? Is there existing other patients that had experience these adverses affects ? Also, is there any warnings published by Stryker about Accolade 2 metallosis risk ? Thanks in advance to all for your comments or information to help us to find the real answers !
