Has anyone tried the TENS machine for pain?

Has anyone tried the "Tens"machine for pain? There are many kinds sold on Amazon. Dr Ho is advertised on tv a lot. I have a cheaper model and use it on my shoulder and hip but no success that I can notice so far.

I too have used TENS and EMS for pain control for over 15 years. I think the most important thing is to know when and how to use them. Here are a few links to help with that information.....

The common mistake in my experience with my patient’s is to place the pads around the painful area and not on the pain source.....

From my past experiences EMS is completely different and is used for different purposes...
EMS used for -
Muscle strengthening
Rehabilitation purposes
Preventing disuse muscle atrophy
Increasing local blood circulation
Relaxation of muscles
Cosmetic muscle toning.

It is so VERY important to talk with your health care provided to see which would be most effective for you situation. Your doctor is you best advisor..

Prayers for pain relief!!

TENS stimulates the nerves – the rationale being that the simulation keeps pain signals from reaching the brain
EMS causes the muscles to contract – by mimicking the action potential that comes from the central nervous system I THINK EMS IS STRONGER?

We will spend anything to stop Pain. How about stem cells, -----PRP used to be free from Medicare, why do we have to pay $500. for it now. Big Pharma controls FDA. They have other important Drugs to research. Stem cells ARE NOT DRUGS!

CONTACT US senators and say WE WANT STEM CELL RESEARCH. My Dr. says w stem cells, in the next 50 years there will be no more surgery. (i want this now)
