Tender scalp ?
originally i was diagnosed with GCA / PMR , but i didnt have temple headaches, i had the jaw claudification (hurt to chew ir open wide) but i did have a tender scalp, but on the crown of my head. Its 7 years later, many iterations of prednisone... but i still have this tender scalp, kind of feels like a slight sunburn or slight bruise. But if you keep touching / stroking it (lightly) it stops . All the drs just shrug and say they don't know. Wondering if it's still a remnant of gca. Anyone else have this ? Or any ideas ?

I have some of that. I started getting treatment for GCA and PMR a little more than a year ago. I was like you, in that I didn't have headaches, but I had almost all of the other GCA symptoms, including scalp tenderness, tenderness around my ears, jaw claudication, night sweats, pain in my cheekbones, etc. I have been getting treatment for a year, and I haven't had any symptoms or flares. But it does seem like I have some scalp tenderness and also a little sensitivity around my ears. I think it was my rheumatologist who said that there can be a little "leakage" of the GCA, meaning there can be small symptoms that still occur with treatment. I don't think those sensations are significant unless they get worse or you start having other symptoms.
But is your tenderness on the crown of your head ? Not the sides or temples ...
No, it's on the sides above the temples.
I think that's the normal spot... that's why all my drs just shrug

I have been diagnosed with occipital neuralgia. That is the cause of my scalp pain. I tell people that my hair hurts. It also affects my face my neck, my ears. Sometimes I think I have a sinus infection or a tooth infection but I don’t. It’s the nerves under your scalp that get inflamed. I went for physical therapy and they taught me how to stretch my neck when that happens when the pain happens and it really doesn’t help all that much just a little, but you might want to check out occipital neuralgia.
@jeff97
Pain on the top of the head is inflamed nerves under the scalp.
I have it. I tell people my hair hurts and they laugh.
It’s occipital neuralgia. I have had it for a few years.
Scalp pain is mainly on the top of the head when you have occipital neuralgia.
Inflammation of the nerves under the scalp causes pain in your face too.
I have it.
Before I started getting treatment for my GCA, my hair hurt. The air moving from a ceiling fan could trigger it. That cleared up once I started prednisone.
@jeff97 yes, the prednisone reduces the inflammation.
