I'll start.

I have never, ever held a baby, toddler, or young child in my arms.

@itchyd

Glad to hear that your health is so robust.
Me? I'm not so healthy: my doctor recently gave me just 3 months to live. But, when I told him I was short on funds and might not be able to pay him what I owe with so little time left, he said, "Okay, 6 months."

@itchyd that’s hilarious - your longevity depending on your ability to pay your medical bills! lol!

@pml I could not have survived an outside bathroom in freezing temperatures in Canada! lol!

Rashida,
It's not that warm in Washington. Nights are usually quite cool and it rains a lot in Washington. It wasn't fun to go down to the bathroom in those conditions but I had no choice. You are right that Canada's cold temperatures would be a lot worse. We rarely get snow in Washington and when I was growing up in the 1950's which is when I had the outside bathroom, we never had any snow and being a kid, I wanted snow so badly! Especially at Christmas!

@pml I take it you are talking about Washington State, not Washington DC …? Yes, I am in Ontario, Canada, and unfortunately in a snow belt.

(For the record, it's an old Henny Youngman joke. You can hear him tell it in the movie "Goodfellas".)

Rashida,
Yes, I do live in Washington State; Edmonds, Washington to be exact. Forgive me for not making that clear. With Ontario being in the east I would expect that you do get a lot of snow. I'm sure it must be very pretty there when it snows!

Hi SusanEllen,
I'm 78 and I remember 1967 Pontiac GTO's! They were beautiful cars! You were fortunate that you had one. I never had one but I dated a guy who had one. It rode very nice. They don't make cars like that anymore.

I've never been camping either. However, I grew up on 40 acres of Douglas Fir trees on a small farm in Washington State with an outside bathroom. So, it was like camping and not fun! It was beautiful country but not fun when you had to go down to the barn and turn right to go to the outside bathroom in the middle of the night! However, the dogs, ((We had 3) all went with you so at least you were protected from wild animals.

@pml the car was nice until some guy decided to run red lights and T-bone me at a busy intersection…

Your “camping” story is way beyond my experiences. I’m a city girl.

You have an interesting story!

SusanEllen,
I'm so sorry about your beautiful car. I hope you were able to fix it.
Except for the outside bathroom, I grew up in a beautiful country setting with 40 acres of gorgeous 100 foot tall Douglas Fir trees in Olympia, Washington State. The nearest neighbors were 1/2 mile away down the dirt road through the woods. It was quiet and peaceful with only the dogs, cats, horse, cows and my mom for company. (My father was working. He drilled water wells.) In the summer there were wild berries and wild flowers all over and in the fall an abundance of apples. I really miss it. I wish the world would be a little more like where I grew up instead of them always cutting the trees down like they do here.

@SusanEllen66 I hope you didn’t suffer lasting physical damage as a result of your car accident!
