TEA with ADHD
I am as 69 year old male living in the Wisconsin Northwoods with my significant other.
I have TEA, diagnosed and treated with Lamotrigine.
This medication controls most all of the major symptoms of tea, I believe.
I believe that I have adhd, lifelong, undiagnosed, but have had and do exibit all the symptoms.
My current issue is this; from my significant other only, I take almost all corrections, mostly about irrelevant topics as criticism and respond angrily, as if I'm being treated like a child.
This is creating a significant struggle in our relationship.
A Mayo doctor has suggested the HABIT program but I see this therapy deals with dementia-alzheimers patients and their relationship issues.
Im not sure if this program will help our situation and we are struggling about where to seek help.
I have had counseling sessions for several years, by myself and with my significant other. The therapist stated that her experience-expertise wouldn't help our situation.
We're seeking support and suggestions
on what actions to take at this time?

welcome to the group,
question? do you have trigger places you can go and chill for even two minutes. a spot where you can pick out something from a time you were not angry, cool the anger for one minute- ask yourself is the anger worth a fight or not. a lot of issues with ourselves has to come from a neutral source. my daughter was mine, she said i had anxiety issues that were in my sub conscious. to think about that and come back and see her. i did sit a while and like a robot processed what she had told me, looked it up and even read a couple articles. hate to say she was spot on but she was. made me have to change my game plans in discussions. it wasn't them i was mad at it was something in me, i made the adjustments , still am. but now i look at things different before i let the mad outride my mouth or attitude. hope this helps
