Hi @knissy,
I was diagnosed with Diffuse Large B-cell Lymphoma (DLBCL) in December of 2023. By the time of diagnosis, I had multiple tumors in my body (stomach, lungs, brain). Because of the brain tumors, mine was also classified as CNS lymphoma. This lymphoma is a more aggressive B-cell lymphoma so may not be comparable to yours.
Some of my symptoms in the months prior to diagnosis were extreme fatigue, weight loss, nausea, night sweats, chills, low grade fevers, dizziness, and a lot of hair loss. Because I started treatments immediately after emergency hospitalization and diagnosis, I did not have an in-depth review of labs.
Sending best wishes to you for good health and healing.
Have you undergone any treatment? Have they done a Pet scan? I had NHL follicular in one lymph node. Had 13 radiation treatments in 2018. So far so good but I often feel very tired and achy but I blame it on age. My inflammation numbers are thru the roof constantly due to an eosinophil disorder . Also have mild anemia due to Getd meds which I have reduced dramatically. All in all my symptoms are manageable some days easier than others. My advice is push yourself to fight through that feeling of exhaustion don’t let it take over. Good luck feel better
I share your symptoms my friend. In fact, those symptoms were the reasons why I commenced chemotherapy May 2023. I completed 5 cycles of chemotherapy before my oncologist cancelled my cycle 6 saying that chemotherapy was ineffective on me and my IgG paraprotein had stagnated and actually plateaued at levels much below desired/expected. Since Nov 2023, I've been on Zanubrutinib (4 capsules daily). My levels have stabilized the past while.
Thank you for your reply. I have had 10 Iron infusions for the anemia which did nothing. My Hematologist is taking a wait and see approach. Says its slow growing. He said we could try immunotherapy but didn't think my fatigue, weight loss etc are coming from the lymphoma. Ill be 80 soon. I don't want heavy treatment that will make me feel worse.
Like you I am on the watch and wait program as my hematologist said that he same as hung it’s indolent so slow progressing. I had 1 iron on infusion which quickly raised my iron level but it quickly went south. For some reason I have plenty of iron but body doesn’t absorb it. I am 75 and agree about aggressive treatment. Hope you feel better and get your energy back. God bless
Thank you for your reply. The mid to late 70s give some of us challenges. I hope you are doing better too.
God Bless!
I’m on my 2nd iron infusion of 4 and I have had 3 B 12 shots. I was told it would take 4 wks to feel better. Last year I had 2 but noticed nothing. My doc said dermatologist should still see me & I attempted to get an appt. I need to try again. Moffitt told me if I get another purple spot to let them know. I still have the rash all over— just lighter brown in some spots.
Same symptoms I have with W-M disease, plus neuropathy in both feet.
I hope the iron infusions help you. I haven't had any B 12 shots. But I've had 10 iron infusions which did nothing. I still have Anemia and fatigue and continue losing weight.
Thanks for your reply.
