Symptoms: Cough and hoarseness. Worried it could be cancer
Hi,
My english isn't perfect.
Im 45 y old and i am a smoker for +18 a 20y.
1 week ago i started to have a hoarseness voice and 3 days after that start i feel soms chest pain.
I feel the the chest pain for 80% of the time and it doesn't get worse when i laugh or cough. (Pain level of the chest pain : 3/10) (i have read on several sites the chest pain of lung cancer must be worse when you laugh, cough,.. ) and when i laugh or cough.. my chest pain stays the same.. not worser
5 months ago i got diarrhea for almost 4 months (now its normal). The doctors take a sample of my stool and the test of the stool is ok. (No parasitetes, no blood,...)
Last month i got also a chest pain (the same chest pain) for 10 days and after 10 days it was gone.
Now i got a hoarseness voice and the chest pain. I want friday to the doctors and she said about the hoarness, my throat is a little bit red (i got little throat pain) and she said it is viral...
Is said im afraid of lung cancer.. but she said its viral.. no lung cancer.. she listened to my lungs.. it was ok.
Whats you opinion, pls? Do you think about lung cance

Do you get pain under your rib cage
Hi all.
I still have the hoarseness voice but i think it a little bit less then before ajd the pain in the chest .. yesterday i almost don't felt it.. strange that the pain isnt constant
I gonna need to wait 1 week more. My doctor dont want x chest.. for the radiation
Hi jwkelly.
I feel a little bit pain on the upper thorax front
I think that if you feel chest pain from ex; lung cancer, that you feel it always and that you got really pain. I read that if the chest pain is from lung cancer, that it be worse with deep breathing, coughing, or laughing.
My chest pain, is situated on the thorax, upper side (. sometimes i dont feel any pain.. and if i feel something of pain i give it 1 a 2/10 on the pain level and it dont get worser when i laugh, breath..
I will wait 1 week, as my doctor said, if the hoarseness voice, is still present. I will go back to the doctor. (Doctor said if the hoarseness voice is present for +3 weeks that i need to see the doctor)
Thx all for your advice 😀
Hi jwkelly, how was your hoarse voice.
Was it a little bit? Or a worse hoarse? Or did it get worse or better after days/weeks?
(Sorry for my english but i hope you understand me what i ask 😉)
My voice was hoarse like gargling sand, people had difficulty hearing me, I had to aggravate the condition by trying to shout/talk loud. My doctors said it could be permanent from either the cancer or surgery for a catheter inserted into my neck. Took weeks to go away, came back and went away more than a couple of times from last October-winter of last year. Fortunately since early this year no issues. Not being able to speak properly had me searching for text machines to communicate. I thought it would be permanent.
Have you gone to a cardiologist for tests. I had heart attack in June 2019,I had tightness-pain in my chest before it. After they cleaned out my arteries of plaque but the damage was done.
I would just like to add one thing… as a smoker I would ask my physician if you are eligible for yearly lung scans. They are quite common now and most insurance covers them. You probably don’t have cancer now - I am 60 and diagnosed stage 4 about 7 months ago. At the time I was told they usually don’t see lung cancer until more like 70+ years of age. However, having said that, whether you are a current or former smoker I’d get those scans if you can. If you ever do get cancer (God forbid) you want to catch it early. Your treatment will be easier and a more optimistic outcome.
God Bless 💕
Maybe you had a severe infection of some type that's clearing up ? Better than your worse case scenario
Get a Low dose CT scan. The “sound” is not definitive.
