I have fatty liver too & recently spent 2 weeks at Mayo in an autoimmune crisis. Those wonderful doctors there figured out the problems & started treatment which is making me feel so much better. But while in hospital, my liver enzymes were so high, even the steroids weren’t working at first. The Hepatology team wanted to do a liver biopsy but thank God they started coming down. Still a bit high but I’m getting them checked at Dr. office every few weeks to make sure that’s still the trend.
The interesting thing is for weeks before I ended up in the ER, I had a daily temperature & night sweats, and that was on NSAIDs. Never experienced that before.
Every one is so different & don’t want to add more anxiety but I would pursue this with the Dr. Better to be cautious than for this to get worse. Maybe time to see a bona fide Liver Specialist at this point?? Hopefully that’s something that is possible for you. Good Luck & hope you find the answers you need.

@momac59 Sorry, I also wanted to clarify that liver involvement was not what brought me into Mayo. It was a brand new autoimmune disease on top of my Lupus that affected multiple organs including my liver.

Doctors say my fatty liver condition is reversible. I have lost 20 lbs since the finding. They say keep doing that to cure the liver. Do you know anyone who cured their fatty liver by losing weight and healthy living?

Yes, MASH can have complete recovery. Cirrhosis, no.

You indicated you need to lose weight. Wegovy is approved for MASH as it is a metabolic disease.

I have Cirrhosis. End Stage. I switched to plant based long before liver issues. Actually started after final chemo. I lost 35 pounds, went to Y 5 x a week and then became violently ill. Did my best to eat plant based but with vomiting it became less of an option. After 6 week hospitalization I didn't return to Y as I was extremely weak. Yes, my Hepatologist said losing weight can prevent further scarring. He knew I lost on my own. His words "it isn't necessary with GLPS". Last April I started. I have lost a total of 112 pounds. I had lost approximately 50 when I saw him in September. I was so excited to see labs and scans results. I was so so so disappointed. Labs had elevated numbers, still. KpA was 21, it was in high 57 (death sentence). CAP was dB/m was 340. It has always in 306 to 360. Numbers went down but definitely not what I hoped. Through my tears I said "I didn't cure cirrhosis". He was clear that I can prevent from further scarring but unfortunately any scar is permanent. I lost 60 pounds or so from last scans and labs. I have been trying so hard. No sugar or sweeteners, no preservatives. No greasy or battered food. No gluten by choice. No salt (I dislike salt). 100 ounces of water per day. No alcohol ever. No illicit drugs ever. I don't take nsaid due to cardiac issues. Tylenol only if I really need it which is rare. Plant based. Daily steps. I have done everything recommended and then some. I take 3 supplements all approved by Hepatologist. He gave me a list of things to avoid and I do.
