Swollen cancerous lymph nodes… no tumor

I’ve had CT scan and endoscopy and full physical throat check. Biopsy on lymph nodes says SCC. Still no tumour found. Anyone else experience this? I’m seeing ENT oncologist Friday.

March 2025 had swollen right neck lymph nodes. ENT doctor took syringe and emptied the fluids and biopsyed the fluid. Negative for cancer.
March 2026 I went very hoarse and I went back and she scoped the tongue and found a stage one tumor hpv on my tonsil. Took a month to get through the rabbit hole to start treatment...by then it was stage 3 and in both neck lymph nodes.
Both my radiologist and oncologist said the ENT Dr. Should have taken some tissue to biopsy as well or pet scan and it probably would have shown up.
Long story.....trust your instincts and advocate for your self....have swollen nodes get biopsy and pet or mri.

@craigj1957 similar story. Had a lump a bout a year ago, had CT scan and biopsy. They said it was a brachial cleft cyst. Had my lymph node removed on 7/23 and it was HPV related SSC. Did pet scan and I’m about to have more lymph nodes removed and lingual tonsillectomy.

I supposed to get pet next week. Did they take tissue from thigh to build up from lymph surgery
