Get to an eye doctor a specialist.
You could have an infection one that the anabiotic didn’t work on.
Or something else.
Wishing you the best.

The swelling can also be an allergic reaction to something, even soap or facial cream. Eye ointment with dexamethasone, polymyxin B, and neomycin may be helpful. It is Rx only - will need to see an ophthalmologist, or urgent care can also prescribe it.

2 ReactionsOpthalmologist first. If they think it is allergy and you
don’t improve see a dermatologist.
Stop self treatment as some people are allergic to antibiotic topicals they apply. Especially avoid neomycin
and bacitracin. If it itches cool wet soaks until you see either specialist. Allergies are most often on both lids.

1 ReactionYou need to see a neuro eye doctor who specializes in eye diseases. See a doctor ASAP to rule out anything serious. Good luck! Keep us posted.

Another possible cause of unilateral eye lid swelling is Chagas disease - parasite infection due to a bug bite. Usually, it is observed in the South (Texas, New Mexico). Blood test can confirm or rule out the diagnosis. Better to see a doctor ASAP. Urgent care can order the test,

You are correct.
If she thinks it is an allergy she needs to check everything. Shampoo and other hair products. Make up foundations, especially mascara, eyeshadow, or cream that goes below the eyes to cover up baggy eyes.. Is she using a new type of eyedrop for moisture in the eyes?
Also, she needs to check vitamins Or lotions to see if there is any new ingredients or if she changed to a different company.
Right now I’m healing from eight months of hives that was caused by a calcium citrate that I have never used before.. Going to see dermatology to do some skin testing here at the end of the month.
If she goes to an eye specialist and an ophthalmologist, a they have a lot of training and know what to look for if it’s an infection, Cyst or an allergy reaction. I had a great one, but now he has retired and I do miss him having a hard time to find a new eye doctor I like.
I wish her the very best

2 ReactionsVery well could be a blocked Meibomion (oil) gland. Warm compresses definitely help if that is the cause of the swelling. But definitely need care by a good opthalmologist.
