SVT DIAGNOSIS

I have been on a calcium blocker for three months after being diagnosed with SVT from a 1 channel EKG. My cardiologist has just postponed my first appointment for three months from now. What is the MINIMUM testing for SVT?

What do you mean the minimum testing? If you're asking if a single lead can differentiate between atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter, SVT, bundle branch blocks, etc, the answer is a resounding no.

At a minimum a 6 lead ECG would be needed, and a respected cardiologist or ER physician would ask the tech to use a proper 12 lead ECG.

Note that the diagnosis of SVT is not necessarily defined, except that it means one or both atria are beating too quickly. SVT comprises several disordered arrhythmias:
