SVT after ablation

Posted by tct @tct, Nov 13, 2022

I had a successful atrial ablation on Wednesday. By successful, I mean that I have had zero atrial flutter since, and no AFIB. My heart rate variability (HRV) as reported on my Apple Watch is rock solid, whereas it jumped all over the place prior. However, my heart rate since the procedure has been locked in a range between 89 and 110, where prior to, my resting HR was 60-70. So now what? I feel as though I’m in constant SVT mode and it’s very tiring! I will talk with my cardiologist on Tuesday to see if this is normal.

My resting heart rate after my ablation increased from 57 to 72. My doctor was not concerned (but I am)! I have had 2 episodes of Afib in the 5 months since the procedure (though both lasted less then 30 minutes).I still have to take medication (flecanide and blood thinner). Not sure what I gained.

I was diagnosed with AFib after having Covid.
I previously had SVT until I had a successful ablation in 2013... Easy procedure and recovery for that.
On April 1st 2025 I had AFib ablation...
Was prescribed fast acting Dilitizem for SVT episodes.
It's now November 2025 and after contracting bacterial bronchitis the SVT episodes have returned full force... A least 8 episodes.
Within ten days.
I was scheduled to have a Watchman implant done but rescheduled due to the bronchitis... EP agreed after the first of the year ...
After all I have read about SVT episodes I'm thinking "another ablation"?
Any advice ?
