Survey of Diverticulitis Patients in this Group- What Stage are we in?

Posted by bc321 @bc321, Jan 9 9:58am

For Diverticulitis patients in this group, I'm curious what stages we are in on average. To keep it simple we'll stage it as follows:

1) Uncomplicated episode diagnosed 1+ times but not...
2) Complicated episode* diagnosed 1+ times (*Phlegmon, Abscess, Perforation, Fistula or Stricture) but not...
3) Hospitalized 1+ times but not...
4) Decided to do Surgery but not...
5) Already had Surgery

I am a 4, with surgery scheduled in 5 days.

Hello fellow diverticulitis sufferer…
I am stage 2 with fistula bleed just one episode. I have faced the apparent evidence that I must avoid questionable foods, while consuming some fiber (with gobs of water daily). My aim is to avoid future episodes and never agree to surgery. :-).
