Surgery while on Evenity??
I am supposed to be starting Evenity soon and also may be facing some female surgery (pelvic organ prolapse). Just wondering if ok to have that surgery while on Evenity.

@dappy. We are not medical professionals here on Mayo Clinic Connect so cannot advise you on this question. We can provide support and thoughts on how best to address your question. Does your surgeon already have your medication list so they know they you are taking Evenity. Is this something you’ve talked with your surgeon about? If not, it would be a good idea to ask their experience and recommendations.
Do you feel comfortable going along with your surgeon’s advice on this?

1 ReactionThanks, @naturegirl15, yes, they have medication list and I would go with his recommendation. I was just wondering if anyone else had gone through this while on Evenity.
I was on Evenity when I had a total hip replacement. The surgeon said it was okay. I guess it was. No problems.

1 ReactionGoogle Evenity / They (Amgen) has an Evenity Support online. Ask for the Medical area for Evenity. An RN will answer your questions. I was on Evenity last year and had to call them about oral surgery. I did ok so far. I am now on Prolia twice per year. I have only had the first shot this month.
@dianestanley, thanks! Great info. !
@naturegirl5 You have to talk to surgei=on and anesthesiologist. Evenithy pulls calcium out of the blood into the bone. When NPO, blood calcium can drop and lead to problems. Talk to surgeon and anesthesiologist.
@sstopalian I'm not sure who you intended for your message. I did recommend that @dappy talk with their surgeon.
@naturegirl5 May be a mistake, but think I added more: anesthesiologist etc.
