Anyone had shortness of breath after getting a steroid shot?
I am wondering if my shortness of breath could be caused by steroid shots. Anyone ever had shortness of breath a couple weeks after getting a steroid shot? I have had them before in the past. Xray, blood work, oxygen levels good but still feel like I need to like yawn for a good breath. Then they put me on advair which is also a steroid and I tell them it is not helping but they tell me to continue it. Could it be from steroids? Does it ever go away? I've never had asthma or any breathing problems before.

@cookie2009, I think @baz10 @gbippy @rits may have experienced shortness of breath related to steroids.
Cookie, did you talk to your talk about this possible side effect?
I had \a dexamethasone lumbar sine injection yesterday and immediately experienced shortness of breath. I have COPD and am pre-diabetic. How long will this side effect last does anyone know?
came looking on the internet because I wondered the same. I am experiencing shortness of breath, headache, nausea, dizziness, brigh bright apple red face, puffy, sleeplessness, and fatigue...AND MY THUMB joints ( sight of injections) are still hurting...
How are you doing, @maggiemac? Did you talk to your doctor about the symptoms you experienced? May I ask what you received the steroids for?
I had a steroid injection in my hip 36 hours ago . I am wheezing and short of breath . I am told it cannot be an allergic reaction as it has occurred too long after the injection .I cannot believe it is a coincidence. I have not had breathing problems before. Anyone else had a delayed reaction like this ?
I just had my cortisone injections over a week ago and I am now experiencing shortness of breath. I have to yawn so I can have a full long breathing. Never had any shortness of breath ever. Anyone knows any cure?
@jillgoode
You definitely could have had a delayed allergic reaction- it happens.
An immediate allergic reaction can be very dangerous and is not that common.
It could be a reaction to the particular steroid injected or it could be a reaction to other components in the injection.
Maybe you can talk to an allergist about this?
