Subacute Subdural Hematoma
My 79 yr old Mother in law fell last Wednesday and told no one that she hit her head. She was fine all day Wednesday thru Friday and then on Saturday at 3am calls needing to go to the ER for a severe headache. Only at this time does she say she hit her head. After a CT scan, it was determined she needed to be transferred to a higher level hospital for multiple brain bleeds. Once admitted she was diagnosed with a subacute subdued hematoma that had stopped bleeding. Doctors say it is contained and surgery is not needed. After multiple CT’s and an MRI there has to confirm age continues to deteriorate daily. She is having severe headaches and refuses to eat. Multiple doctors cannot find any reason why she is having such headaches. It will be 1 week tomorrow since she has been in the hospital. Any thoughts?
