I forgot to mention - prior to the mesh sling I had inserted, I had 3 bladder up-lifts during surgeries such as a hysterectomy. They all helped. The Kegals never did help.

Thank you for the information on your incontinence and doctor's suggestion of a urethral sling, in addition to your concerns about side effects of medication for urgency. @edithmiller - you'd mentioned after 20 years your sling gradually quit working. Did you decide to go another route to manage the symptoms?
@letsgo - have the blips and bumps you mentioned post-surgery gone away now? If you are comfortable sharing, what was other issue your surgery identified?
@dgiese - are you looking at the possibility of surgery? I appreciate @gailg's sharing her surgical experience. I personally had the sling surgery and then a hysterectomy plus repairs several years later.
