Strange period cycle and symptoms
Hi, I am having strangely odd period cycles for the last 3 months. In February, I got my period on the 21st which was lighter than normal and lasted only 3 days, then in March, I didn't get my period, in April, I got a long period on the 17th which lasted for 9 days till the 25th on the 17th I had only light spotting, on 18th, I had blackish sticky blood with a low flow rate, and from 19th only, normal flow started), then again this month, I got it today, so early. Also, last time and this time too, I am feeling no period cramps. Usually, I feel cramps and heaviness in my abdomen which are missing recently. I am confused about what's going on. I have recently changed country and living in a totally different environment for the past 6 months and eating totally different food. Is this affecting my cycle? I am 33 years old. Please help. Since I am new in this environment and because of the language issue, I am hesitating to go to the hospital and seeking advice here. Please help. I want to know what can be the reason.

First, yes any sustained diet change can absolutely affect your hormones causing irregular periods as you may not be getting the nutrients your body needs. The stress of moving and a new environment is also a factor. You are kind of young but peri menopause is not out of the realm of possibility.
However, I would be concerned about your description of blackish sticky blood. Any changes in menstrual cycles need to be assessed by a Doctor. I am interested in what country you are living in.
Communicating across language barriers is a challenge. You must seek medical help and ask for an interpreter before you go to any hospital or clinic or private facility. They may have English speaking staff members who could facilitate. Let us know if you have family or friends as support or someone who speaks the language to act as a reliable interpreter. It sounds like you are alone and I don’t know if you plan on living in your new country for any length of time.
Please don’t be afraid to insist on an Interpreter and make sure that person is available for your appointment. Please do this immediately . You need to set your mind at ease and alleviate the stress If you were back home in your own country you wouldn’t hesitate to seek a qualified medical opinion. But I understand your situation and uneasiness.
Would love to hear how things go.
First of all, thank you for your reply and suggestions. I have just shifted from India to China. Yes, I am alone here and will be living quite a significant amount of time here. Strangely the bleeding that started yesterday was just enough to soak only a single pad and today it has disappeared. So, I am thinking about what is going on. I am really concerned about it and thinking of visiting a doctor here. Thank you so much for your understanding and empathy.
with best regards,
Just to clear things up, I am not a Doctor but thanks for the upgrade😉. I understand that most people in China are covered by a public health insurance system. Not being sure what your financial circumstances are or if you are employed, you will probably have to pay.
That is a big change in countries for you and please don’t think about it…just do it. Don’t wait until it is an emergency.
Hi, I like your sense of humor. Yes, I have been employed and covered by medical insurance. I think it is mostly because of stress and diet change as you have said rightly that may be hormonal imbalance is the key factor. Since everything is different and above all, because of language issues, I am feeling in two minds. Anyway, I think, anyhow now I need to see a doctor soon and fix things up. Thanks for your encouragement and good advice.
With best regards,
