Stoma supplies

Posted by craighatescancer @craighatescancer, 4 days ago

Can one donate misc Ostomy supplies that are no longer needed? Hate to dispose of them if someone could use them.

Interested in more discussions like this? Go to the Ostomy & J-Pouch Support Group.

Yes, absolutely. There are several ostomy organizations that will be most grateful.

@craighatescancer I have donated them to my local WOCN in the past. You can also check and see if the UOAA has any chapters in your area that meet in person, and donate there.

@craighatescancer I'd call or message the WOCN department and see what they say. I've given unused supplies to the Mayo Arizona WOCN before.

Thank you for asking the question - ostomy supplies are expensive and so necessary.

I found two groups. One, called Friends of Ostomates Worldwide, ships to folks outside the US; their address is 4018 Bishop Lane, Louisville, KY 40218-4539 (info@fowusa.org). The other is here in the Dallas area: Kindred Box, 4653 Nall Rd. #26, Farmers Branch, TX 75244 (info@kindredbox.org. They do not take opened or partially used product, though). I'm sure there are other, local options, too. I'd check the websites for requirements, though.
