Stent on Aneurysm
My neurosurgeon has recommended to intervene with a stent to protect my 6 mm berry brain aneurysm from rupturing. I am terrified. Has anybody gone through this process and can share your recovery and outcomes please? Anxiety and depression are kicking in. Please help

I have not gone through this procedure, but a co-worker of my daughter had something similar. He started having horrible headaches and they found an aneurysm when they scanned. They decided they needed to see the area "up close" and so went in through the groin and up into his brain to see what things looked like. In his case they came back out deciding to just watch and wait. He was in the hospital for a few days and then on rest at home for about a week with no driving or strenuous activity. The next week he was work from home only and then was cleared to resume normal activities "with caution to avoid elevated BP". He made diet changes and began regular exercise, but otherwise resumed his life as usual. 3 or 4 months later he was cleared to fly out west to visit family and had no problems. He, too, was anxious prior to getting through it all. I would encourage you to not look at how scary we see this, but how much faith do you have in your doctor to take good care of you. As patients we tend to forget our doctor has "skin" in this game too. They want you to still be their patient after it is all over--not a former patient for any reason. I will add you to my prayers for peace and a good procedure and outcome.
