Stem cell treatment for peripheral neuropathy - any good?

Posted by nightgig @nightgig, Sep 25, 2018

I just attended a very convincing presentation of stem cell treatment for peripheral neuropathy. It showed that the symptoms can virtually disappear in a month or so. If its so good, why can't I find anything that the Mayo Clinic is doing? Also, the Mayo website says that 'some medications are possible causes of peripheral neuropathy, but doesn't say which ones! The presentation today said the culprit was statin drugs. I have been taking statins for 20 years or more. Should I stop?

I had stem cell treatment on my legs and feet 3 months ago and it didn’t work for me on my nerve pain. Don’t waste your money!

@debbiehirsch Hmmm, that is the same thing that bob1946 wrote above. I have read that any benefit that occurs from stem cell transplant is not due to the cells. Unfortunatly they die off in a few weeks. But temporary improvement is credited to the cellular fluids that the cells come along with.
BTW, I can just hear a Doctor saying "So who told you to go to Mexico and get a stem cell transplant for your neuropathy?"
And I reply "Johnny Sneakers from the Internet told me!" (Doctor:) Oh, I see...

All my doctors including my neuro and cardio both know I’m on statins and everyone agrees I should be on them to prevent another TIA even though I have neuropathy and a neurological disease. A stroke can kill you, while the others are chronic conditions
