yes i suggest getting one. charge lasts 3 hours and then 40 mins to recharge.
the 80/20 rule applies,ie 80% get benefit and sadly I fall into the 20% with my front lobe dysfunction.

@carogemini Hello there! I have been talking to my husband about getting this product " Beech Band" Do you have it or have any comments on it's usefulness? One thing I have heard is it seems to only hold about an hour of charge for many people. Since I am not too familiar other than that it has been helpful for many other people. I appreciate any and all your suggestions. Thank you Wendy

@hopeful3325 I do hope you adjust to the medication Carbidopa/Levodopa without any problems. It has helped me in controlling my tremors where other medications had not. I was on so many of this medication that my neurologist switched it to the Liquid form known as , Vyalev . Once you get to the proper dose you should really feel a big difference. I went up to the 4 pills a day and did that for about eight months. Any transition into a new medication can be quite frightening. I started to notice the changes after about a week since the Primidone had not stopped my tremor. I understand each of our doses will be different so hopefully when you get to the full dose your symptoms will be controlled and you are able to focus on all the other aspects we need such as exercise, diet and overall well being which is all affected with our condition. Do let me know how you progress and if I can share anything else with you.

Hi @kathy49,

My neurologist started C\L by titrating the dosage in this manner: a half tablet once a day for one week (with food to avoid nausea); the second week I took a half tablet twice a day. This titration schedule continued until I reached three full tablets a day. It was a conservative approach but it was a comfortable approach which lessened any potential side effects.

Will you post again and let me know how you are doing and if you have any questions?

I am a bit confused as my neurologist (specializes in PD) recommend 30 minute to an hour prior to meals 3 x daily...specifically to avoid nausea. Conventional wisdom says take with food for best effect. Anyone else getting mixed signals. I am starting with taking well before meals and see how it goes but would be easier with meals.

@kathy49 My VA Neurologist and the VA Pharmacist both told me to take my Carbidopa/Levodopa 30 minutes prior to a meal. I was told that your brain needs the dopamine gain from the Levodopa….and that protein from your meal interferes with the efficiency of that dopamine uptake. The Carbidopa part of the prescription is to aid and help you with feeling nauseous. So it makes sense to me that taking the medication before the meal might be a good thing. Work with your Doctors and Pharmacists, hopefully they will adjust medications to get you the relief you need!

Random question about c/l dosage. Three times a day is what most take I think. Anyone know why considering how long this has been the gold standard for PD there is not an extended release version?

@kathy49 My husband takes an extended release form at night, Carbidopa/Levodopa Er tablets 25/100.

I understood that I should taking my meds with meals because it would interfere with the absorption. That is why I only have a very small snack before the meds.

@kathy49 From what I understand, Rytary is longer-lasting. Here is the Rytary website, where you can read about this medication. https://rytary.com/

@kathy49 I understand that protein interferes with C/L absorption. I always take it with food, as I have a tendency to be easily nauseated.
