Started Hydroxyurea 5 weeks . How long does the fatigue last?

I started taking Hydroxyurea 5 weeks ago.
How long does the fatigue last? Did anyone have brain fog? Thx for any info formation.

Hi @emma1971, Welcome to Connect. The medication you’re referring to, Ruxolitinib is actually a medication used to treat some blood cancers/conditions such as ET. Its brand name is Jakafi and there are several members who have ET that take this medication.

It’s not used specifically to treat fatigue caused by ET. But with treatment, some side effects of essential thrombocythemia might be relieved with medication.

Are you currently taking any medication for ET such as Hydroxurea?

I am currently taking 1000 mg of Hydroxyurea daily. Thank you for responding regarding the Ruxolitinib. That clears that up for me.
