Advice can be given but most will not listen to regular people even if you have already v been through all these procedures you have to listen to yourself to make the right decisions no the risks , do your own diligence. Sometimes things seem great until there not … It’s not an all help everyone procedure we our all wired differently… NO ONE CAN TELL YOU WHAT PAIN YOU HAVE !! Only you know that know matter what your diagnosis is people our misdiagnosed everyday and it’s more then what you would ever think . Just know the risks take care of you know matter what you decide . I’m using YOU a lot because that’s all that matters

I'll second that.

I’m 10 months with a Boston Scientific implant. I’m so happy I got it. Contact them for information about it. I recharge about every two weeks. Takes two to three hours to recharge. I did change reps and now have a wonderful gal that got mine straightened out.

@martyk @goetf4997 I met with the Nevro rep a few months ago. She went through a lot of programs to get my stim from 2017 to reach my feet but couldn't do so. I'm hoping the new one will, plan to get it this summer. Best wishes!

Thank you. I hope the current device will be able to reach my feet.

Good luck with all of these and if there working for you that’s great . But don’t you hope it will work ever if you have a rep and you have this implant inside you demand it work for you … period know one should live with pain and that’s why you made the decision to get one and endure more pain to have the surgery . You shouldn’t have to get on a forum and discuss hope you should be on the phone calling or texting your rep to meet you with his laptop in the lobby of any hospital or clinic and shouldn’t make an appointment with a PCP get them there now fix your issues make sure it’s hitting the target areas that you need .. God bless
With faith we can have everything 🙏🏻

Hello @neferkem1 and welcome to Mayo Clinic Connect. I am sorry to hear of your accident at work. I wanted to connect you with others who have been discussing spinal cord stimulators so that you may find some support as you explore this option. You will find you post here now:

I see that @mmata has joined the discussion and shared some with you! I will let the pair of you connect.

Do you happen to know why type of stimulator your doctor is considering?

I have not gotten the appointment for that discussion yet. STILL waiting for the doctor to contact me. Why do I get the feeling this will be another 3-4 months of NOTHING happening?
I appreciate you helping me to connect with others in this area! I have been reading others posts and have a nice long list of questions... but no answers as of yet.

I have a chronic knee neuralgia that I’ve tried everything for …at one point I had a DRG stim and it worked for 7 months . Decreased my pain by 60-70% but needed freq adjustments . Eventually it just wore off ie my body got used to it and it stopped working . I eventually got it taken out.
The 7 months was very bittersweet as you can imagine . I was like Cinderella at the ball.
Longevity of the devices efficacy and neuroplasticity as the body’s response are unknowns that still need a lot of research. I don’t know what the studies are saying now about longevity of the effects but when I last looked,
a lot of devices were not helping by 5 years in.

I had Medtronics stimulator installed on December. Jury is still out.
Biggest problem is NO information from anyone. It’s trial and error.
I can say that learning on my own do’s and don’ts and using tramadol has helped.
Program needs lots of improvement especially where the user is concerned.
